The Laurel School District congratulates Micah Niblett and Davyn Lowe on their outstanding participation in Delaware Boys State, one of the nation’s premier leadership and citizenship programs for high school students.

During the week-long program, students assume leadership roles, create and debate legislation, and gain firsthand experience in how government works. Micah authored legislation that advanced through the legislative process and was enacted as House Bill No. 9. Micah’s bill amended Title 14 relating to high school community service requirements.

Davyn excelled in the program’s team-building activities and demonstrated the ability to work collaboratively across differing viewpoints, learning to disagree agreeably while building consensus with members of the opposing party. His leadership, character, and commitment to civic engagement reflected the very best of Laurel.

We are incredibly proud of Micah and Davyn for representing Laurel with excellence and helping shape the next generation of leaders. ❤️🤍 Laurel High School
