Dear Coach Jones,
On

Dear Coach Jones,
On behalf of the Laurel community—our students, families, alumni, and all who love Laurel Bulldog football—we want to extend our deepest gratitude for your extraordinary dedication and leadership over the past seven years as our Head Football Coach.
Your impact on this program reaches far beyond the remarkable statistics, though they tell a powerful story in their own right. A 49–26 record, five playoff appearances, back-to-back 1A District 2 Championships in 2021 and 2022, and an unforgettable run that brought home consecutive 1A State Championships in those same years—these are achievements that will forever be part of Laurel High School history. Your recognition as the 2022 1A State Coach of the Year stands as a testament not only to your success on the field, but to the respect you’ve earned across the entire state.
Under your guidance, our program has flourished. You've coached 32 First and Second Team All-State players, including the 2021 and 2022 1A Defensive Players of the Year, the 2022 1A Offensive Player of the Year, and the 2022 1A Lineman of the Year. Beyond awards and honors, you have shaped young athletes into leaders—instilling discipline, perseverance, teamwork, and character in every player who has worn the Laurel jersey.
One of your greatest legacies is the foundation you’ve built for your student athletes’ futures. Having 11 former players go on to play or commit to play college football is a testament to your commitment to helping them reach their fullest potential—not just as competitors, but as young men preparing for life beyond high school.
Coach Jones, your passion for the game, your belief in our athletes, and your steady leadership have changed this program forever. You gave Laurel High School more than wins—you gave us pride, unity, and memories that our community will carry for a lifetime.
Thank you for every long night, every challenge met, every moment poured into this program. Thank you for believing in our kids. And thank you for leaving Laurel Football better, stronger, and prouder than ever.
With heartfelt appreciation,
The Laurel School District
