Ms. Yi’s 4th grade students were deeply engaged in collaborative pairs, analyzing a number to determine all possible factors. They used tile squares to build arrays, graph paper for visual representations, and organized their work with either T-Charts or rainbows to display factor pairs. The mathematical language in play—prime, composite, factors, multiples—was intentional and powerful.
On the SmartBoard, Ms. Yi had outlined, in student-friendly language, how students were to apply, create, and analyze throughout the activity. During share-outs, students had to justify their reasoning—and the depth of discussion was simply magical. ✨
Way to represent, Ms.Yi! We are so proud of the engaging, rigorous, and student-centered learning happening at LES every day! ... See MoreSee Less

🌟 The way we start our day sets the tone for everything that follows! 🌟 Our teachers make it a priority to greet students at the door each morning. Sometimes students get to choose how they’d like to be greeted—high five, handshake, fist bump, hug, or wave—by pointing to their choice on the door. 💫
This small routine builds connection, gives students ownership, and starts every day with a smile. Just look at Mrs. Michael and Miss Barnes making those morning moments special! 😁✨
With the moves around the building, Mrs. Langley’s class went on a Scavenger Hunt to find their favorite places, along with Mr. Ralph and Dr. Woolford ❤️🔎 ... See MoreSee Less
