The Buildings and Grounds department is committed to providing our students and staff with a safe, clean, and comfortable environment. Our five district properties are cleaned and maintained by our caring and dedicated custodial staff each day

When it comes to the upkeep of the appearance of the exterior areas, our dedicated grounds staff maintains our properties throughout the district. Duties include grass cutting/trimming, landscape projects, athletic field maintenance, and snow removal. In addition, we have knowledgeable trade mechanics that are responsible for the general upkeep of the mechanical, electrical, plumbing, carpentry and painting within the facilities.

Buildings & Grounds other areas of responsibilities includes:
• The development and management of construction projects, maintenance and repair projects
• Oversee service/maintenance contracts and contractors to insure services are rendered appropriately
• Compliance of applicable federal, state, and local regulations related to district facilities
• Oversee and adhere to standards as outline under the Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act (AHERA)

Indoor Air Quality Complaint Procedures

Per Title 14 §4303, any individual desiring to submit a complaint regarding indoor air quality within the Laurel School District facilities must do so formally and in writing utilizing the prescribed form.

Complaint forms may be found at the following link: Indoor Air Quality Complaint Form and must be fully completed and submitted to the Buildings and Grounds Supervisor so the District may investigate potential issues, take any action(s) as deemed appropriate, and follow-up with associated parties.

*To maintain HIPPA compliance, any medical condition or protected information must be documented and coordinated through the Human Resources Office.
